Who are we?

We are a group of teachers at University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University Hanoi, who cooperatively established an across-the-curriculum critical thinking course for English majors at the university in 2007. We have also been involved in designing and teaching two other courses,  College Success – Taking Charge of Your Personal and Academic Growth, and An Introduction to Research Methodology in Foreign Language Education. While many are still teaching these courses at ULIS, others have been doing other professional work or pursuing their higher study at different institutions around the world.

Our dream is to form a community that shares a passion for promoting educational research, critical education and world Englishes.

Who else are “we”?

Students who are taking, used to take, or will take these courses, and anyone else who is interested in the issues covered in them.

If you have resources or anything to share, please let us know by using the Message Board, or consider becoming an author.

What is “this”?

This website is intended primarily as a place for sharing and communication between teachers and students who are either directly or indirectly involved in the three courses, but is also hoped to act as a gathering place for anyone interested in critical thinking, research, art, student life, education, Vietnam, and life in general.
